Are these supposed to run back to back or is this a bug?

Main Post:

I thought ABs were on a rotating schedule or something

Top Comment: One is August's run of it, the other is September's run of it

I’ve started to realize something about “run backs”

Main Post:

This may have been discussed before, so I apologize if it’s gratuitous (I’m new). With “run backs,” the developers weren’t trying to be annoying. I think they wanted to provide some space between each attempt to allow you to reflect, think and strategize. It’s not just about getting back to the boss. I’m not sure if the Souls game follow the same format, but if they do I’d reckon it’s for the same purpose.

I thought it was an interesting concept. What do you folks think?

Top Comment: It depends on the fromsoft game. Some are more runback heavy than others. I always thought of it as just part of the boss attempt. Bloodborne is kind of middle of the road. Lots of running, but rarely forced to fight anything.

My first run, year 3, absolutely inlove with the game.

Just need to finish the obelisk in the south east part of the map and get the clock in the future.

Top Comment: Huge respect. I am in year 7 and am nowhere near this level of organization lol

Top Comment:

The Academy could do a lot worse than nominate Sarah Paulson for Best Actress. Fight me.

Also that cut to the tomato for "red" was absolutely fucking sublime.

Really glad they didn't have a cheesy scene near the end where she gets out of the wheelchair and runs away. Was waiting for it all movie and pleasantly surprised it didn't happen.

Run. 2020 - stupid decisions

Main Post:

!Spoilers about the plot of the movie!

First of all, a little information about the Münchhausen by proxy syndrome this movie addresses. The disorder is a condition in which a caregiver creates the appearance of health problems in another person, typically their child. The caregiver then presents the person as being sick or injured. Permanent injury or death of the victim may occur as a result of the disorder. The behaviour occurs without a specific benefit to the caregiver. Tho in some known cases the feeling of being needed by- or being looked up to for "taking such good care" of another person seemed to have encouraged the behavior.

Okay, facts about the disorder out of the way, let's get to the plot! Run 2020 revolves around a mother who, after the passing of her sick infant daughter, abducted another child from the hospital and raises this baby as her own daughter Chloe (the main character). Chloe, now a 17 year old girl and her "mother" Diane who suffers from Münchhausen by proxy syndrome. Throughout the movie Chloe startes to realize that things don't add up. She gets suspicious meds and starts to suspect she might actually not be as sick as Diane makes her think..

Alrighty, here is my problem with the movie:

Why is Chloe so stupid?! She could've gotten free at the pharmacy. The woman on the reception asked her why she even wants to know the name of her "mother's" medicine Chloe could've simply said: "Because she makes me take them, her name is on the prescription but she gives them to me." The pharmacist would've probably called the police then and there and the whole ordeal would've been over.

Also when Tom (the mail man) found Chloe on the street and she told him everything, he should've called the police right away. He could've given them the name of the "mother", his own contact, a general description of the situation Chloe is in and the location their at. The "mother" most likely would have arrived before the police but that wouldn't matter because they'd have all the information they would need and since they'd have his contact they would have realized when he went missing right away.

I like the movie and I know it's a trope almost every (psycho) thriller/ horror movie shares but for fricks sake, characters are so darn stupid all of the time

Top Comment: I work in a hospital. There's no way she would be able to unvent her daughter, get her into a wheelchair and make it as far as she did. Also the dunce of a nurse trying to add together 1 plus 1 equals 7 when her patient is fucking missing. Overall I did enjoy the movie quite a bit.

Run [Movie] was bad

Main Post:

I don't know much about movies. But I wouldn't recommend this movie. I couldn't find any discussions on reddit. So I felt compelled to make a discussion.

Top Comment: I thought it was good! It was predictable but it kept me on edge for sure. I also liked how smart and brave she was- like when she climbed across the roof with the soldering iron and blanket and water in her mouth! I cared about her and liked her character. I liked the ending, I was definitely expecting her to just be a really good person. I was surprised.

What happened to running?

Main Post:

I’m almost embarrassed to admit I am a 5k ultramarathoner at this point

Top Comment: This is why cycling is better. Cycling is very toxic and elitist so the amount of loser influencers is pretty small. Running is just too accepting. Running needs to start excluding slow paces to get rid of these types of

How often do you have a terrible run?

Main Post:

I’ve been running consistently since November 2023 with at least 5 runs a week since then. I’ve had my fair share of runs that felt tough, but today I finally had one that felt awful. I am 7 weeks into the Runner’s World 3:15 plan and today was the first workout I wasn’t able to complete as intended. I anticipated early it wasn’t going to be great when my Garmin watch told me my performance condition in the first mile was -4 and boy was that proven correct. The work out included 6 tempo miles. I made it through 4 and needed to pause for 2-3 minutes before the fifth mile and then again before the sixth. Analyzing my HR data after the run, my HR on those first 4 tempo miles was 10-15 bpm higher than at the same pace on previous runs. As such, Runalyze had my effective V02 max for this workout 4-5 points lower than what I had been averaging for runs over the last 4-5 weeks. I definitely hope this was just one of those days and not a continual trend.

My question to you all is how often do you have an atypical awful run?

Top Comment: Every run for the first mile, then it’s fine.

Why do you run?

Main Post:

Do you run because you want to live long and avoid diseases? Or because it makes you feel better? Or maybe it reduces stress, anxiety and depression. Or maybe you just simply enjoy it

Top Comment: I do it for mental health and because I enjoy it. I also run because I want to take advantage of my body’s ability to run while I’m healthy and young, I don’t want any regrets when I’m old.
