My marathon is not until December..ideally my goal would be to run at an 11 min/mile pace which translates to a 4:48 marathon time (but I would be happy for anything under 5 hours).Long runs, especially runs longer than a half marathon are going to take me 2.5+ hours, so I am wondering if the benefit of a "long run" was still the same, if I broke it up? Let's say, I am trying to do my longest run of 20 miles at the end of my training...could I do something like 13 miles in the morning, and then 7 miles in the evening?Fellow NCAA guy: we do more frequently (just depends on what your mileage is at).
